Beloit Memorial Girls Swimming Team Splashes Whitewater

Beloit Memorial’s girls swimming team captured a pair of relay events as well as four individual events on its way to defeating host Whitewater 96-74 on Tuesday.

Beloit’s Laila Lee won the 50-yard freestyle in 28.53 seconds while Emma Polo Fuertes (30.06) and Alexis Thomas (31.25) made it a 1-2-3 Beloit finish. Lee was also second in the 100 butterfly (1:14.42).

Caroline Severson won the 200-yard freestyle (2:24.39) and G’Yauna Morga-Thomas won the 100 free (1:01.82) with Aalayja Listenbee-Fleming second in 1:05.75. Morga-Thomas was second in the 100 backstroke (1:22.94).

Polo Fuertes finished first in the 100 breaststroke (1:23.71). Ava Wehrli finished second for the Tide in the 500 free (7:07.90).

The quartet of Severson, Fuertes, Morga-Thomas and Lee won the 200 freestyle relay (1:52.79) and Polo Fuertes, Chloe Collins, Listenbee-fleming and Thomas won the 400 freestyle relay (4:52.39).

Beloit’s 200-yard medley relay team of Severson, Listenbee-Fleming, Lee and Morga-Thomas was second (2:16.97).
