Free Lunch and Breakfast for kids this summer!

You may be thinking about what your child will do for meals while school is out. The good news is that the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners in your local community to serve free meals. It’s food that’s in, while school is out.

There are no income requirements and any child age 18 and under may come to eat for free.

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally-funded meal reimbursement program, administered in Wisconsin by the Department of Public Instruction.  Areas covered by schools whose student enrollment in free and reduced-price meals is 50 percent or higher are eligible to offer “open” sites, where all children are welcome to eat, regardless of family income.
  • Grab and Go Meals: Since March, the School District of Beloit has provided Grab and Go Meals for any individual between the ages of one and 18. Grab and Go Meals will continue to be available for pick-up Monday through Friday at all our elementary schools and at our High School from 11 am to 1 pm. Our final distribution of Grab and Go Meals will be on Monday, August 24th. On Monday, August 24th, you will be able to pick up five breakfast meals and five lunch meals for the entire week. These meals will be provided in "grocery style" meaning that instead of five individual servings of an item, you will receive an entire package of that item. For example, instead of five individual servings of fruit cups, you will receive a full can of fruit. There will be no Grab and Go Meals after Monday, August 24th.

School locations for pickup of meals are Beloit Memorial High School, Converse Elementary, Gaston Elementary, Hackett Elementary, Merrill Elementary, Robinson Elementary and Todd Elementary.
