Bob Chady, Executive Director of Business Services, Speaks with WCLO

An $8.7 million federal grant will allow the School District of Beloit to replace more than half of its fleet of diesel buses with new clean electric buses.

Executive Director of Business Services Bob Chady says the Environmental Protection Agency identified the School District as a high-need priority district.

The investment, from the 2023 Clean School Bus Program, is funded through the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Chady says their contractor, Durham School Services hopes to have the new electric buses on the road in the next 18 to 24 months.
