Amare Hereford Drops 33 Points in Beloit Memorial's Win Over Janesville Parker

Amare Hereford pumped in three 3-pointers and converted all six of his free throws on his way to 33 points as Beloit Memorial’s boys basketball team flattened Janesville Parker in non-conference action 78-63 Monday night.

In a battle of former Big Eight Conference foes, the Purple Knights jumped out to a 44-26 halftime lead thanks to a 23-point outburst from sophomore guard Hereford.

Beloit also received 12 points apiece from Jatavian Crawford and Brock Hodges. Diego Perez was 4-for-4 at the free-throw line and finished with eight points.

JJ Douglas led Parker with 32 points and Quari Douglas chipped in 10.With the win, the Knights improved to 13-4 overall. 

The Knights are 6-3 and fourth in the Southern Lakes Conference with two away games against teams with losing records scheduled this week. They play at Badger on Tuesday and at Wilmot on Thursday. Both games tip off at 7 p.m.

Westosha Central leads the SLC with an 8-1 mark. Burlington is at 8-2 and Waterford is 8-3.

The Knights’ next home game is Feb. 13 against non-conference opponent Kenosha Tremper.
