Beloit Memorial Senior Sarah Ramsden Named to Academic All-State Team
Beloit Memorial senior golfer Sarah Ramsden has been named to the Academic All-State Team for golfing in Wisconsin.
The recognition is awarded by the The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin and is only awarded to golfers who meet three criteria. They must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25, they must participate in 75 percent of their team’s varsity matches and they must be a sophomore, junior or senior.
Ramsden, as the sole member of the Purple Knights’ varsity team, earned the recognition to cap off her settler final season.
Ramsden’s journey to the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament, where she finished 12th, included five medalist honors in Southern Lakes Conference dual meets, a second-place finish at the SLC championship, a win at the Waterford regional championship and a third-place finish at the Elkhorn sectional.
434 athletes from 106 different high schools across the state were honored this season.
