BMHS Boys Golf Team earns honorable mention Academic All-State
BELOIT—The Beloit Memorial boys golf team scored well all spring—on the course and in the classroom.
Recently the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin honored the Purple Knights as Honorable Mention to the Team Academic All-State. The GCAW recognizes high school golf teams with the highest team grade point averages, with team defined as the five designated golfers on the roster at the time of the boys spring 2022 WIAA regional tournament.
Three teams are recognized with the highest cumulative team GPA in each division. Schools with at least a 3.25 GAP received a certificate acknowledging honorable mention status.
The following team members were recognized from Beloit: Griffin Oberneder, Liam Flanagan, Conner Churchill, Kai Wong and Max Allen. They all received Academic All-State honors.
In Division 1, Kettle Moraine received the gold award. Sauk Prairie took silver and Madison La Follette earned bronze.
Clinton had a pair of golfers earn Academic All-State honors: Dylan Miller and Jackson Repaal.
To earn Academic All-State, golfers need to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, participate in at least 75 percent of their team’s varsity matches and are a sophomore, junior or senior.
