Yearly 4K Assessments
PALS-4K is designed to be administered to four-year-olds in the fall of 4K in order to guide instruction during the year. A second administration in the spring of 4K serves to evaluate progress.
The following areas will be assesed: name writing, upper case alphabet, print and word awareness, rhyming and beginning sounds. Optional assessments are based on student performance in lower case alphabet and sounds.
4K District Math assessment looks at students knowledge in colors, shapes, number identification, rote counting, one-to-one matching with objects, subitizing (math fluency) with dice, 10 frame knowledge, vocabulary (more than & less than), ordering objects, measuring with cubes, copies a pattern, and prepositional/placement words.
