We are excited to welcome students back onsite this fall and I am honored to serve as BLA’s next principal. For the past three years, I was BLA’s assistant principal and interim principal and look forward to celebrating the 10th anniversary of BLA this fall. Our dedicated staff, determined students and supportive families make BLA a special place. We can’t wait for the 2021-2022 school year to begin!
Please be aware that Skyward registration is now open online for the 2021-2022 school year. Families who need help registering online are welcome to visit us at Fruzen Intermediate (2600 Milwaukee Road) on Tuesday, August 10 or Thursday, August 19 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. We can help you log into Skyward, complete the registration steps and pay fees. Please call our office at 361-4300 if you have any questions.
Please plan to meet with BLA staff on Wednesday, September 1 for back to school conferences. We will be in touch with you soon to schedule a time. Our first day of classes at BLA will be Thursday, September 2. A BLA calendar is included which also has other important information such as the school schedule and staff contact information.
Thank you for being a part of #TEAM BLA.

Email Kristofer WhitneyHello Beloit Learning Academy students and families!
I am excited to introduce myself as the assistant principal here at the Beloit Learning Academy. Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about our school.
I began my career in alternative education in Beloit in 2005 working with our Middle School Alternative Program. I taught in that program for ten years before moving into a high school social studies position here at BLA. This is my first year in the assistant principal role and I could not be happier to learn and grow in this position at a school with such wonderful and supportive staff, students and families!
We know that last year was a challenge for students, families and school staff in so many ways. We are so glad to have you all back with us in person this school year! We also know that we can’t all just return to school from the traumatic events of a year like that and pretend everything is right back to “normal”. Our goal is to support you all as we learn and grow together with an eye on the future. That means that we need to communicate with one another and work together to overcome the obstacles and barriers that are in the way of achieving success for all students. Students and families, please let us know how we can help you to feel safe, comfortable, cared for and ready to learn here at the Beloit Learning Academy.
The thing I will miss most about being a teacher is having the time together with students in the classroom to form relationships. So, students, please feel free to always greet me at the entrance before school, find me throughout the school day, or stop in my office to have a chat. You all are what makes being an educator so rewarding!
Let’s all work together to have a great, safe and successful school year as #TEAMBLA!
