Dean Larson - Technology Professional
NOMINATED BY: KATHERINE RANDALL
Dean Larson is one of the hardest working and valuable members of our staff. He routinely works nights and weekends to make sure that we have working technology each day. Dean has always provided complete service with a kind and friendly demeanor, and even throws in a corny joke or two! He not only supports my classroom tech needs, but teaches me so that I am better able today than ever before to troubleshoot my own issues. I know that I can email him during a class, and he can almost always walk me through the solution in just a few minutes. This allows me to keep my students as engaged as possible. I really would have had a difficult time navigating the virtual learning world last year without Dean. We are blessed to have a great person in our district such as Dean Larson. #AllStar #BeloitProud

Dakota Lindsey - Facilities Engineer

Dakota Lindsey is so helpful. He went out of his way to assist me in locating a desk before the beginning of the school year. Due to a shortage of furniture he went to multiple locations to find a desk. The only available desk wasn't functional as it was, so Dakota stayed late to fix and paint the desk on Tuesday evening and had it in my office bright and early on Wednesday morning before school started. As a new employee I am so thankful for his help and dedication to his work. Dakota is a role model and delivers exceptional customer service and follow-up. I am so glad that he is a part of our District staff. #AllStar #BeloitProud

Ardis Lohff - Administrative Support
NOMINATED BY: JO ANN ARMSTRONG
For almost 21 years, Ardis has served the District Finance Office, managing our accounts payable, p-cards, and at times our bookkeeping. Ardis' customer service, attention to detail, and willingness to help everyone, truly embodies what it means to be an all-star. One area to highlight in her recent work is her ability to work across departments and buildings to record district assets. This was extremely important with the device refresh of both staff and student devices. Not only did she need to record the new devices coming into the district but also record the disposal of the old devices that the district did not retain. This was a tremendous, multi-departmental, collaborative effort that appeared flawless from the outside eye. Ardis is a true gem and
deserves to be recognized as an SDB All-Star.

She leads PBIS, runs the ACT and S.A.T., helps lead team - building events for staff, provides new hires support and resources, and so much more. She has previously been a volleyball coach, NJHS coordinator, a CLC coordinator and teacher, school store supervisor, and special education teacher! I am sure I am missing other roles she has taken on throughout her time at McNeel. She is completely in education for the students and considers her students "her" kids. She teaches them, loves them, and is concerned with their well-being. Nancy is a product of Beloit and continues to be a part of the community and McNeel school family. It would be very difficult to find a more loyal Beloiter or McNeel staff member. Nominated by Melissa Beavers
I can’t even describe the amount of planning and preparation Michelle and her team have accomplished since last Spring. She worked all summer to develop protocols, screeners, flowsheets, and training modules for staff and students. With every interaction she has, she educates. She teaches about handwashing and mask wearing, PPE and mental health, and it is nothing short of amazing to watch those lightbulbs go on when she does. With the information continuing to change daily, it has been incredible to watch her decipher all of the new medical mandates and collaborate with district administration to plan for the safe return of students and staff. School nurses certainly are the medical experts in our buildings, and I am grateful to have Michelle on my team as their leader. Every day is different, every day is challenging, yet every day Michelle shows up and makes a difference in the lives of our staff, our students and, our families.

Nominated by: Sean Winters
Harold's intention from day one was to always go above and beyond anything that he was assigned to do. He was very eager to have the opportunity to be a lead custodian at any building, to prove to everyone one and himself that he could run a building. His supervisor, Andres Acevedo, saw potential in him but knew Harold needed experience in the everyday nuts and bolts of maintaining a building and growing personal relationships with the staff. Harold’s dedication and perseverance paid off in a big way, being named the custodial lead of the district’s newest building, Fran Fruzen. Harold has not only met the standards set by Andres but has by far exceeded them. Harold has been seen cleaning the nooks and crannies of Fruzen, coming up with his daily cleaning lists, and has taken the pride of ownership of Fran Fruzen. It's always a pleasure to encounter a strong advocate of not only their building but the staff who reside there. If ever someone deserves the recognition of a job well done, it's Harold Darrow.
