Families that are working can get emergency rental assistance that is paid directly to the landlord upon them finding a place. It usually covers security deposit and/or first months rent.

Public housing administration section eight rent subsidy assistance applications Mon, Tue, Thurs, and Fri 8am-5pm. No applications accepted on Wednesdays. The BHA administers two basic HUD housing rental assistance programs- Public Housing and Section 8. All applicants are pulled from the waiting lists. Families must be income eligible per HUD guidelines and not owe the BHA or any other housing authority money.
The BHA does not have emergency or immediate housing assistance.
To apply the following is required: social security cards for all family members, certified birth certificates, and picture ID's for all family members 18 or over, verification of income.
Reasons for denial include but not limited t Background of criminal activity including drugs, registered sex offenders, and previous renting history.

Provide round trip bus transportation for initial interview from Beloit to Rock County Jobs Center, if no other source of transportation is available. A food pantry and clothing distributor. We may be able to help with first months rent or eviction prevention for households that are homeless or impending homeless. We can help with prescription medications (excludes pain) on a one time only basis for those without insurance or medical card.
