Letter from Ms. Moore

  • Dear Hackett Families,

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the new Assistant Principal of Hackett Elementary School. It is truly an honor to become a part of the Hackett community. I am excited to meet, work, and build relationships with staff, students, and families.

I come to Hackett with ten years of educational experience. My first two years were spent as a teacher in Milwaukee, WI. Being born and raised in Beloit, it was always my hope to come back home and educate the youth in our community. In 2011, I was given the opportunity to return to Beloit and work for the district. I served as a third grade teacher at Gaston Elementary for seven years and a Behavior Specialist for one year. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership (Principalship and Director of Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, who is now a sophomore in high school, as well as other family members and friends. I also enjoy singing, cooking, reading, and embracing new adventures.

This summer, I have spent time learning about the Hackett culture and community, as well as familiarizing myself with the unique needs of our school. I believe wholeheartedly that every student deserves a quality education and that only happens when the school and families work together for the best interests of our children. I believe that all students can learn, if given the opportunity, and I am committed to ensuring that Hackett is a safe and nurturing environment that educates the whole child, provides students with relevant, meaningful, and rigorous instruction, builds character, and equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to grow.

I am grateful for this opportunity to serve you and your students, and I am looking forward to meeting and working with you this year. Go Hawks!

    Best regards,

    Chamari Moore - Assistant Principal
    Hackett Elementary School
