Conner Churchill and Max Allen Move On After Strong Performance in Regional Golf Tournament

Beloit Memorial’s Conner Churchill shot a solid 85 to move on to sectionals, while teammates Kai Wong and Max Allen had to go into a playoff to see who would earn the final individual spot at the Fort Atkinson WIAA Division 1 regional tournament at Koshkonong Mounds Country Club on Tuesday morning.

Allen ended up beating Wong after they both shot an 86th to tie for 20th. Churchill continued his stellar senior season to finish as the Purple Knights’ top golfer in 19th.

Jameson Flanagan shot a 91 to end in 28th while Marcus Allen finished with a 92.

Beloit just missed out on advancing as a team, finishing in fifth with a score of 348. The top four teams advance.
 
Milton defeated Fort Atkinson in a tiebreaker (302) to win the tourney while Janseville Craig was third (307). Stoughton was the final team in by placing fourth (333).

The Knights duo heads to Oak Ridge Golf Course in Milton on May 30 for the sectional tournament.

 WIAA DIVISION 2 NEW GLARUS REGIONAL: Beloit Turner just missed out on advancing to sectionals as a team, taking fifth place, but will advance two golfers to the next round.

The Trojans finished with an overall score of 339 behind Evansville, which shot a 330. Edgewood Sacred Heart won the tournament with a 296.

Turner’s Ethan Hale finished in a tie for fourth after shooting a 39 on both the first nine and last nine holes to finish with a 78. Darren Niedfeldt will also compete at sectionals after taking 10th with an 80.

Brodhead finished in eighth with a total score of 391, and their best finisher was Nolan Oliver, who shot an 87 to finish 22nd.

Clinton took ninth with a 399; Bryce Beyer finished 30th with a 90.

Hale and Niedefeldt will next compete at sectionals at the Prairie du Chien Country Club.
