Beloit Memorial Regroups and Bounces Waterford in Soccer 5-2

Beloit Memorial’s boys soccer team pulled away for a 5-2 win over Waterford on Tuesday night to improve to 12-2-4.

Eduardo Gonzalez-Terrero got the Purple Knights started, finding the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

Waterford answered with two penalty kicks, one off a challenge in the box and another off a hand ball in the box and the Knights found themselves trailing 2-1. Miguel Aguilar and Gonzalez-Terrero both scored for Beloit to give them a 3-2 halftime lead.

“We did a much better job in the second half limiting our mistakes and controlling the pace of the game,” Beloit head coach Brian Denu said.

The Knights scored two more goals, a second from Aguilar and one from John Anthony Aburto.

“Jared Barajas was great as a setup man tonight assisting on three of the five goals,” Denu said. “It was overall a solid 5-2 win.”
