School District of Beloit August 2023 Highlights

USS Beloit Visit
The School District of Beloit and Beloit Memorial High School hosted the commander and crew members of the USS Beloit LCS 29. It was a proud moment for our district to showcase our students and staff. We thank the USS Beloit crew for their service to our country.

City Hall Selfie Day
Our Superintendent and School Mascots enjoyed the opportunity to support the City of Beloit during City Hall Selfie Day!

2023 Convocation
Our School District of Beloit kicked off the school year at our 2023 Convocation. Our guest speakers motivated and inspired us to be eady for the return of our students.

Professional Development
Our 6th - 12th grade social studies teachers had the unique opportunity explore the Logan Museum of Anthropology as part of their professional development. They toured the museum, analyzed various artifacts, received an introduction to anthropology, and participated in simulation of an archaeological dig.

Beloit Sky Carp Game
Superintendent Dr. Garrison threw out the first pitch at the Beloit Sky Carp Game. Many SDB staff members attended to cheer him on and enjoy a memorable evening.

Home Visits
The staff at Beloit Memorial High School visited every BMHS student's home to welcome them to the 2023-2024 school year!

Community Health Fair
Our district hosted a Community Health Fair in collaboration with dozens of community partners on Saturday, August 28. The event included community booths, free school supplies, health and dental providers, free haricuts, and free food!

Cultural Farmer's Market
The School District of Beloit attended the Cultural Farmer's Market hosted by the Stateline Family YMCA. We had a great time sharing information and resources with families and students.

Shop with a Sailor
Thank you to the USS Beloit Commander and Crew and the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation for hosting a Shop with a Sailor event at Rogan's Shoes. Students from several school districts benefitted from their kindness and generosity.

Student Welcome Back
Our Beloit Memorial High School students helped welcome our teachers back to the 2023-2024 school year. The morning was full of smiles, laughter, cheers, and positive energy.
