Class of 2023 Graduation

386 students celebrated their graduation in front of proud family, friends, and staff members at Jacobson Field on June 10.

We wish them the very best in as they continue the next chapter of their life. Our graduates are career, college, and community ready.

2023 Grown Your Own Multi Cultural Teacher Scholarship Recipients!

Congratulations to 𝐀𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐲, BMHS Class of 2023 and 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐜𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, BMHS Class of 2007. Azariea will attend UW-Whitewater in the fall where she plans to major in early childhood. Victoria is currently attending Concordia Univeristy and plans to teach an ELA creative writing class. Grow Your Own is supported by School District of Beloit staff and community members. 

Celebrating our Retirees and Years of Service Honorees

We thank and wish our 2023 retirees all the best as they begin a new adventure. Our School Board and district appreciates their years of dedication to education and especially for all the lives they have impacted over the years. Together they have served our district for 489 years. We also thank our 68 employees and celebrate their years of service with our district from 10 years to 35 years!

Global Scholars Award and Seal of Biliteracy

Congratulations to 𝐋𝐞𝐲𝐝𝐲𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐨, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐳 𝐑𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐳𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐳 for their distinguished work in earning the Global Scholars Award and the Seal of Biliteracy. This award is given to students who have worked hard to prove their intermediate-high national proficiency levels in English and Spanish, as well as their intercultural competence in our global community. We are so Beloit proud of these three seniors.

Juneteenth Celebration

We participated in the Juneteenth celebration hosted by the YWCA Rock County and The Elite Ladies!

Superintendent Dr. Garrison, Mr. Samuel Karns, and Ms. Donna Dooley were happy to represent the School District of Beloit at our booth. They enjoyed meeting so many students, families, and community members who stopped by.

Summer School 2023

Our Summer School program is full of learning, engaging activities, collaboration, creativity, and so much fun. Students are taking advantage of our "A" Path focused on academics to prepare for the start of school. Students are also having fun in our "WE" Path - focused on wellness and enrichment to learn new skills. 

Midwest Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Competition

Congratulations to BMHS Junior 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐲 𝐌𝐮ñ𝐨𝐳-𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠 for her 3rd place finish at the Midwest Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Competition. Lacey pitched her idea of StudyLair, a safe space for students to go year-round for tutoring, homework help or to interact with like-minded students.

Rock Externship Program

Congratulation to 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗞𝗿𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗰𝗸, 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶 𝗠𝗰𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻, 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗯 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗲 for representing our district in the Rock Externship Program! According to Blackhawk Technical College, "The program is designed to immerse teachers in business environments and have them shadow specific occupations or disciplines for one week to gain knowledge that can be included into their classrooms."

Rock River Jazz Camp

6th through 9th grade students celebrated the conclusion of the Rock River Jazz Camp with an awesome concert. Mr. Chris Behrens along with current students and alumni from the award-winning BMHS Jazz Program led this camp. Highlights included instrumental technique instruction, jazz improvisation, and daily big-band/combo rehearsals.
