Beloit Memorial Senior Goalie Jillian Traver Earns Postseason Honors
BMHS senior Jillian Traver of the Rock County Fury girls co-op hockey team has been named to the Wisconsin Hockey Coaches Association All-State Second Team. Traver was also one of five finalists for the Jessie Vetter Award given by Wisconsin Prep Hockey to the top female goalie in Wisconsin.

Beloit Memorial Falls in Sectional Semifinals to Top-Seeded Kettle Moraine
Sophomore Amare Hereford snatched a defensive rebound and dished out a fine-looking pass to teammate Diego Perez, who scored a transition bucket. The score put Beloit Memorial in front 36-35 five minutes after halftime, and it was looking like the Purple Knights were ready to unleash some of that second-half magic that had won them a regional championship.

Beloit School Board Approves Roof Repairs at Hackett Elementary
The Beloit School Board has approved $477,351 in roof repairs at Hackett Elementary School that will be done this summer. The school board approved the repair project at its meeting Tuesday night. The expenditure comes after an inspection of roofs of buildings throughout the district done by Apex Building Consultants.

Hackett Elementary Cuddling Chicks!
Journey Patterson, a third grade student at Hackett Elementary School, holds a chick which recently was hatched in the classroom. STEM Coach Kimberlie Woodkey, engaged Hackett students in hatching chicks in the past month. The students have been learning about the life cycle of an egg and baby chickens and they had some hands-on learning when they were able to cuddle with the chicks.

Saturday night, it took every bit of skill and resolve for the hosts to knock off the tall and talented Madison Memorial Spartans, who fooled no one with their 13th seed and 12-13 record.
