Amya King and Belen Rodriguez-Aquino Honored as Rotary Students of the Week
Amya King and Belen Rodriguez-Aquino haves been selected as a Rotary Students of the Week.
Amya King is the daughter of Carissa King, Gale Morales and William Buchanan.
She has been a High Honor Roll student all four years at Beloit Memorial High School receiving awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement. She has received the Superintendent Scholars Award and the AP Scholar Award. She received Department Awards in Social Studies and Business. She is a member of the BMHS National Honor Society.
While at BMHS, she has been active with DECA, Key Club, the Increscent student newspaper and Academic Decathlon. Athletically she is a member of the BMHS Girls Basketball and Soccer Teams. In Basketball she earned GPA/Educational Awards.
Outside of BMHS, she spends her time reading, babysitting and playing games.
Her future plans are to attend Stanford University, Princeton University or the University of Chicago to major in Political Science with a possible minor in astronomy/astrophysics. She would like to further her education to attend law school to become a lawyer.
Belen Rodriguez-Aquino is the daughter of Alejandra Aquino Bautista and Lazaro Rodriguez.
She has been a High Honor Roll student all four years at Beloit Memorial High School receiving awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement. She has received the Superintendent Scholars Award along with Department Awards in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art and Physical Education. She is a member of the BMHS National Honor Society, a Beloit College Porter Scholar and member of the Beloit College Upward Bound Program.
While at BMHS, she has been active in Key Club and International Club. Athletically, Belen is a member of the BMHS Girls Tennis Team.
Outside of BMHS, she enjoys playing violin, photography and drawing.
Her future plans are to attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the University of Illinois-Chicago or Iowa State University to major in Architecture to become a licensed architect.
