Representatives From Taxing Bodies to Give Presentations

Local residents can learn about public finances and how property taxes are collected and used during a Know Your Local Government series to be presented at the Beloit Public Library.

The series of presentations will be co-sponsored by the library and the Stateline Community Foundation. Each presentation will begin at noon and representatives from the City of Beloit, School District of Beloit, Rock County and more will discuss property taxes and finances at the Beloit Public Library at 605 Eclipse Blvd.

The series will kick off on Wednesday, Nov. 15 with a presentation by Eric Miller, finance and administrative services director for the City of Beloit.

 
  • Dec. 20 — Jim Nemeth, Blackhawk Technical College vice president of finance and college operations.
  • Jan. 17 — Sherry Oja, Rock County finance director.
  • Feb. 7 — Jason Stein, vice president and research director of Wisconsin Policy Forum. He will present an overview of state school financing.
  • Feb. 21 — Robert Chady, School District of Beloit director of business.
  • March 20 — Brad Boll, Beloit Turner School District director of business services.

The presentations are free and open to the public. The first 25 to register for each session will receive a free lunch courtesy of the Stateline Community Foundation.
