Merrill Elementary School Improvement Highlights

    • By the spring of 2017 (spring to spring), Merrill Elementary School will decrease the number of students in grades 5K-3 (full academic year only) identified as at risk by 10% in literacy.  Students are identified as at risk by scoring below the 21st percentile in MAP, being identified as at risk by PALS in grades 5K-2 (or scoring minimal or basic on the Forward Exam in grade 3), and reading two or more BAS levels below grade level expectations.
     
    • By the spring of 2017 (spring to spring), Merrill Elementary School will decrease the number of students in grades 5K-3 (full academic year only) identified as at risk by 10% In math.  At risk is defined by scoring below the 40th percentile on the Math MAP assessment.
     
    • Merrill Elementary will implement professional development focused on strategies to address racial and gender inequities.
     
    • At least 60% of Merrill families will participate in three school events during the 2016-2017 school year.
