Ms. Regina: “I love the School District of Beloit because of the vast array of opportunities afforded to the students from rigorous academic courses, unique extracurricular activities, sports, and travel. I was just Ryann's age when I took my first week-long trip away from home with Burdge Elementary School to sing with thousands of students from across the country. Getting out of the "Beloit bubble" opened my eyes to so many possibilities. I am elated that the district supports and encourages opportunities to learn outside of the classroom. If we encourage our students to take advantage of all the district has to offer, they will leave well-rounded, well-learned, and well-prepared.” Third grader, Miss Ryann, had this to share: “What I love about the School District of Beloit is that we always learn new information to help us decide what we want to be when we grow up. My teachers are nice and do everything they can to make sure we learn. They stay on Google Meet after class if you need extra help. I also love being in DLI and learning Spanish.”

Tenía apenas la edad de Ryann cuando participe en mi primer viaje de una semana con la Escuela Primaria Burdge para cantar con miles de estudiantes de todo el país. "We are proud parents of two kiddos at SDB. Both of our children are enrolled in the DLI program (Dual Language Immersion) of which half of their day is learning in English and the other half in Spanish. Best decision we have made for our children’s future, hands down! Our time in SDB started at Hackett Elementary eight years ago. We dread the day that we no longer have a child there. Mr. McReynolds and his staff have a one-of-a kind team that works together on all levels. This school is as diverse as it gets and comes with many challenges of which Hackett has risen from. They are a 4-star school! Going from a place so familiar, Hackett, to a whole new experience at Cunningham, was a challenge for us all. A challenge to build new relationships; learn new styles of communication; and get involved on a whole new level. If you don’t know what is going on, it is your responsibility to find out. We have built many new bonds and have been openly welcomed to the Cunningham Family. I may drive them crazy with all my questions and outside of school hours messages to Ms. Paepke. Our advice to SDB parents is to get involved in your schools on whatever level you can. Build relationships, ask questions, offer comments, and show up. We have never been turned away by any staff member at any school. The District is full of teachers and staff that love our children as much as we do and want to help them grow into the best they can be. It takes a village to raise a child. This is our job as parents to do the best we can for our children and demand the best for our children. Support your kids, support your teachers, and support your schools. Make school a priority for your child and YOU!"

"Somos padres orgullosos de dos niños en el Distrito. Nuestros dos niños están inscritos en el programa de DLI (inmersión en dos idiomas), del cual la mitad del día está aprendiendo en inglés y la otra mitad en español. ¡La mejor decisión que hemos tomado para el futuro de nuestros hijos, sin duda! Nuestro tiempo en el Distrito comenzó en la Escuela Primaria Hackett hace ocho años. Tememos el día en que ya no tengamos un hijo allí. El Sr. McReynolds y su personal tienen un equipo único que trabaja en conjunto en todos los niveles. Esta escuela es tan diversa como es posible y viene con muchos desafíos de los que Hackett ha superado. ¡Son una escuela de 4 estrellas! Hello! We are the Guevara family! We are extremely grateful that we have been able to find great support in the School
District of Beloit. Especially for us as Latinos who have a little trouble with the English language. We are able to find people in the District who help us to express ourselves when we have any doubts or questions. There is always someone who is willing to lend a hand. In addition to this, we are very happy that our three children have taken progressed in their education from 4k through high school without any problems. There are always dedicated individuals who are willing to support us. We love the School District Beloit because the close-knit community, the countless opportunities for students in and out of school, and the fact that the district cares deeply about the well-being of students and their families.

¡Hola, somos la familia Guevara! Nosotros estamos muy agradecidos porque en el Distrito Escolar de Beloit hemos encontrado un gran apoyo, en especial para nosotros como latinos que tenemos un poco de problemas con el idioma inglés. En el distrito encontramos gente que nos ayuda a poder expresarnos cuando tenemos alguna duda o pregunta. Siempre hay quien pueda ayudarnos. Independientemente de esto, me siento muy contenta porque mis tres hijos han llevado sus estudios desde el 4k hasta el high school y no hemos tenido ningún problema. Siempre hay gente muy dedicada a su trabajo y dispuestos a apoyarnos. Nos gusta mucho el Distrito Escolar de Beloit porque la comunidad
está muy unida, hay muchas oportunidades para los estudiantes dentro y fuera de la escuela, y el distrito se preocupa mucho por el bienestar de los estudiantes y sus familias.

“There is so much we love about the School District of Beloit! My husband and I both went to Converse, McNeel, and ultimately graduated from BMHS. We met at BMHS - hard not to love that this District brought us together! Even into adulthood we continue to value the diversity and education we were exposed to throughout our lives and are excited for our sons to experience the same. For our sons, we are excited for the possibilities available to them. More opportunities have become available since we graduated, and more continue to surface. The DLI program and exposure to other diverse backgrounds will ensure they will learn another language and about other cultures we’re unable to teach them. As they grow older, they will have endless opportunities in education, sports, and career exploration. The dedication of the teachers and administrators Bennett has been exposed to thus far is admirable and SO valued, especially during these tough times. Bennett is six (today) and is a Kindergartener at Todd. He has been in the DLI program since starting 4K last year. Sawyer is three and will start 4K in the DLI program in 2022.”

“Hay tanto que amamos del Distrito Escolar de Beloit! Mi esposo y yo fuimos a Converse, McNeel, y finalmente nos graduamos de BMHS. Nos conocimos en BMHS ¡es difícil no amar que este Distrito nos unió! Incluso como adultos, continuamos valorando la diversidad y la educación a la que estuvimos expuestos a lo largo de nuestras vidas y estamos emocionados de que nuestros hijos tangan la misma experiencia. "Our family moved to Beloit about 9 years ago and it was the best decision we ever made. We are proud to be a part of the School District of Beloit. As parents we really love the diversity the District has and the learning environment it provides. We had kids in most schools and I am very thankful for all the help and opportunities the District was able to provide for them. My youngest are enrolled in the DLI program which allows them to practice their English without forgetting their Spanish and for that I'm thankful. Another great resource the District offers is their program at Even Start, where parents can learn the English language. I really appreciated the ECE Internship program at the High School because it opened doors for my daughters to learn and eventually lead them to the right path career wise. We are proud to have 4 daughters as BMHS graduates and it fills us with joy knowing my daughter Cristal has joined the staff at the School District working in the schools!"

"Nuestra familia se mudó a Beloit hace 9 años y fue la mejor decisión que tomamos. Estamos orgullosos de ser parte del Distrito Escolar de Beloit. Como padres, realmente amamos la diversidad que tiene el Distrito y el ambiente de aprendizaje que brinda. Tuvimos hijos en la mayoría de las escuelas y estamos muy agradecido por toda la ayuda y las oportunidades que el Distrito pudo brindarles. Aquino family tell us what they love about the School District of Beloit: "We are very happy to be part of this school district. As parents, we are always concerned that our children have a good academic formation with various resources and this is offered by the District. An example of this is the DLI program that allows students to learn and develop in two languages; English and Spanish. Another great program and resource for our family is Even Start, where the District offers early literacy to children and at the same time their parents (who do not speak English) can learn the English language through a partnership with Blackhawk Tech. I was able to participate in this program and this is where the District gave me the opportunity to develop professionally and now be part of the staff. Additionally, we are able to be part of the “Grupo de Enfoque a la Familia Latina” a focus group for Latino families where we learn about the resources that the District and our community has to offer."

"Nosotros estamos muy felices de ser parte de este distrito escolar. Como padres siempre nos preocupamos de que nuestros hijos tengan una buena formación académica con diversos recursos y esto nos ofrece el distrito. Un ejemplo de ello es el programa DLI que permite a estudiantes ir aprendiendo y desarrollándose en dos idiomas; inglés y español. Otro programa y recurso muy importantes para nuestra familia es la escuela Even Start donde el distrito ofrece alfabetización temprana a los niños y al mismo tiempo los padres que no hablan el idioma inglés poder aprenderlo a través del programa de inglés que ofrecen en colaboración con Blackhawk Tech. Yo participe en este programa y allí el distrito me dio la oportunidad de yo poder entrar a desarrollarme profesionalmente y ahora ser parte del personal. También las familias contamos con el Grupo de Enfoque a la Familia Latina donde aprendemos sobre todos los recursos que el distrito y nuestra comunidad tienen que ofrecer."

"We are proud to be part of the School District of Beloit. Both Patrick and Caitlyn have been with the district since 4K and attended Converse for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Not only did they leave Converse with a great academic foundation, but also with wonderful relationships with the teachers and other staff members. It is truly a family atmosphere and they were both sad to leave, but excited for middle school. McNeel seemed overwhelming at first, but both kids found their “HOME” with so many classes, groups and sports to choose from. They have been involved in everything from Academic Competitions, to Band and Orchestra, to sports (all 5 seasons), to Drama and Forensics. They have also been encouraged by their teachers to try new things and to take chances outside of their comfort zone. We are excited to experience everything that BMHS has to offer. Caitlyn is looking forward to her final year at McNeel, and Patrick will be an incoming Freshman at BMHS."

"Estamos orgullosos de ser parte del Distrito Escolar de Beloit. Tanto Patrick como Caitlyn han estado con el distrito desde 4K y asistieron a Converse desde kínder hasta el 3er grado. No solo dejaron Converse con una gran fundación académica, sino también con maravillosas relaciones con los maestros y el personal. Es realmente un ambiente familiar y ambos estaban tristes de irse, pero emocionados por la escuela intermedia. McNeel parecía abrumador al principio, pero ambos de nuestros hijos encontraron su "HOGAR" con tantas clases, grupos y deportes para elegir. Caitlyn está lista para su último año en McNeel, y Patrick será un estudiante de primer año en BMHS."

Our family is proud to support and be involved with the School District of Beloit. We moved to Beloit in 2015 and immediately jumped into everything we could to immerse ourselves in the community. We appreciate the variety of experiences and adventures that the district has for their students. When our son, Roman, was old enough to attend 4K, we looked no further than the School District of Beloit for the right track to ensure our son would learn in a culturally diverse, highly motivated, and thought-provoking environment. The teachers and leaders at Todd Elementary were the ideal fit for us as a family. Starting day one, the dual language immersion program has broadened his horizon and pushes him to learn beyond his wildest imagination.
Roman loves the social aspects of being around such a supportive group of friends and we really enjoy getting to interact with the other families at Todd. Beloit is a great home for us, and we encourage everyone to join us in making the most out of what our schools have to offer.

Nuestra familia se enorgullece de apoyar y participar en el Distrito Escolar de Beloit. Nos mudamos a Beloit en 2015 e inmediatamente hicimos todo lo posible para sumergirnos en la comunidad. Apreciamos la variedad de experiencias y aventuras que el distrito tiene para sus estudiantes.
