 - No Child Left Behind, requires equity across all buildings.

 - Technology is to be accessible by all students, integrated with the curriculum along its standards, and used to further student achievement.

 - All 8th grade students must meet technology standards by 2006, as per an assessment method yet to be delivered by WI Department of Public Instruction.

Job of the District Technology Plan:

To ensure that everyone in the District is informed of these requirements and to support the needs of these requirements.

Job of the District Technology Plan:

To maintain and improve these technologies so as to support the District’s ability to further student achievement.

Job of the District Technology Plan:

To “influence” these things without direct control.  To “set the conditions” to be such that building level site teams choose to make decisions regarding the above in ways that will meet the needs of the government while also working with the District’s existing support infrastructure.

The Technology Plan can do this by:

- Finding and supplying to buildings evidence that technology improves student achievement.

- Offering design and planning support to help buildings produce effective technology systems.

- Monetary support through matching funds if available.

- Instructional Technology Specialists to offer professional development and to train on how to integrate technologies in such a way that will lead to increased student achievement.
