Why have an " in-house" print shop at the School District of Beloit? • With 15 schools and many separate offices in the school district, the need for printing has always existed. Each location has its own set of stationery and miscellaneous forms which feed the curricular process. Because this printing is necessary, it only makes sense that the district has control over the priority, cost, security, and personal service of its own printing. Unlike a commercial print shop which has many customers to satisfy and a profit margin to meet, our in-house print shop can devote its production exclusively to the district personnel and charge only to recover its costs.
Who is the Printer for the School District of Beloit? • Matt Randall started printing for the district in August of 1987 as a student in the Industrial Cooperative Education Program at Beloit Memorial High School. Since that time Matt has worked at a local commercial print shop, earned his diploma in printing from Madison Area Technical College, and then returned full time to the School District of Beloit as Print Shop Manager .

How do I order printing? • To order printed material from the print shop, simply fill out a print shop request form. Print shop request forms can be obtained from the main office in your building or by calling the print shop. The request forms must be completely filled out with your signature, the signature of your principal or supervisor and your account number. Forward the request form along with an original copy or sample of the material to be printed.
When can I expect my printing order to be done? • Printing is scheduled on a "first come/first serve" basis. Planning ahead will help to insure that what you need is completed when you need it. Small orders generally take three days to one week to complete while large ones take one to two weeks to complete, depending on the amount of orders that are in the shop at any given time. It is the goal of the print shop to meet your deadlines.
How and why do you charge for printing? • Printing charges are based on the materials and labor that go into each printing order. Charges are designed to recoup only for the costs of operations without profit. This allows us to provide low cost printing and personal service to the School District.
