How Long Racing: Zack started in 2000 in the kart and stayed in it thru 2003. In 2004 Zack raced 6 races at the end of the season at MIS to get a feel for it. His first full year at MIS was 2005.

Started Racing What & Where? Sugar River Raceway Brodhead, WI, in the Box Stock Junior class. From there Zack went on to the Midwest Sprint Series and then World Karting Association Gold Cup, weekly visiting tracks all over the country. The team learned how to figure out set ups and had to meet new challenges and conditions every week. It's amazing what transferred over from the kart and a great learning experience.

Why Racing? It's in the family. Zack's Grandpa and Uncle's raced. Zack played hockey prior to racing.

Why MIS?  MIS is a fast, competitive track where in his opinion the best 1/2 mile short track racers in the Midwest meet on Friday night. The family has a great history racing there and it's always a challenge to figure out. Zack actually won a go-kart at MIS when he was 5 years old in a giveaway from Red Baron Pizza - they had to hold up the feature for him to complete a full lap.

Racing Goals? In his fifth year as a late model driver, he hopes to be competitive every week as well as a winning a track championship and making it to the National Level. Also important is to continue to earn respect from his competitors on the track and portray his sponsors on and off the track in a positive way.

Who does he most enjoy racing with at the local level?  Nathan Haseleu

Who does he see as role models that have come thru MIS & gone on to racing professionally? Matt Kenseth & Travis Kvapill. Both are consistent, hands on, down to earth drivers who have succeeded through hard work and driving ability.

Most memorable moments?  June 2, 2006, Zack crashed HARD and through the hard work of his crew and help from sponsors five weeks later won his first feature at MIS. The team's primary sponsor Homburg Inc. was in attendance to witness the exciting event. The 2008 Season brought ROOKIE OF THE YEAR for the Super Lates. Also a big moment was being voted 2009 & 2006's FAVORITE DRIVER in the Late Model Class at MIS.

Hobbies? Muscle Cars, Cycles, Hunting, Fishing, Cards & Kart Racing in the Off Season

Drives? Nissan 240 SX
