Parents Advocating for the Performing Arts in our Schools
(P.A.P.A.S., inc.) was founded in 2005, incorporated in 2006, and has
recently acquired 501(c)3 status. We've accomplished a great deal in the
last two years. Here's what we
have accomplished:
- Replaced the condemned
Fly
System in the auditorium.
- Host an evening of music in a clean, safe
environment: Rock the Stage, 2006
- Replaced the obsolete VHF backstage wireless
system with a new UHF Telex Radiocom System
-
Replaced the make-up mirrors in the "green room",
used by our students and rental groups such as the Miss Beloit and
Marx Dance Accademy.
With your contributions, we can
tackle a number of important projects that will improve safety in the
theater,
increase learning potential to
bridging technology gaps, and make the performances more professional.
Students who are exposed to the
latest technology at the high school level enter college with an
enormous advantage, whether they are planning to enter the field of
Performing Arts or some other career.
Please keep these projects in mind
as you consider donating to PAPAS, inc. |

As you can see in the photos, exposed wires and extension
cords on the old mirrors (left) were prone to short circuits and small
fires. The new mirrors (right) were installed professionally by Poff
Electric, who donated their time and talent to the project.
Our long range goal is to set up an Endowment Fund that
will allow Beloit Memorial High School to continue to enrich the lives
of Beloit’s youth through their participation in Choir, Orchestra, Band
and Theater Arts.
We all know how important the arts are for a well-rounded
education and for the future of all our youth, as well as its use by the
greater Beloit community, P.A.P.A.S. members invite everyone to
contribute to the P.A.P.A.S. Fund. Please help us improve our facility,
start new performing arts programs, and establish an Endowment Fund to
support the future needs of the Choir, Orchestra, Band and Theater Arts
Departments.
