                              Protect your privacy!

Many of the "free" college, financial aid, and career search sites are financed by companies that want to acquire data about consumers. Some Internet sites, even some that we publicize, require you to "uncheck" the security box if you do not want your private information shared with others. And even though you may "uncheck" the item, the spot can become rechecked if you are not careful. We urge you to use caution when filling out questionnaires on-line. Your social security number should not be needed for anything except college enrollment and the FAFSA application. Do not give it to others.
