The Director The BMHS Choir Program has been under the direction of Mr. Daniel Klocke since September 2006. Mr. Klocke graduated from St. John's University in May 2004 with a degree in Vocal Music Education. During the 2004 - 2006 school years, Mr. Klocke taught middle school general music at Maplewood Middle School in Maplewood, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul. In an effort to pursue his dream of being a high school choir director, Mr. Klocke applied for and was offered the BMHS Choir Director position in April 2006. Mr. Klocke has a passion for choral music - and an even greater passion for teaching. In his teaching, Mr. Klocke places special emphasis on teaching his students to be COMPLETE MUSICIANS. Of course, BMHS students must learn to sing with proper body alignment, breath support, diction, vowel formation, and resonance. But Mr. Klocke firmly believes this must be done in conjunction with a sound understanding of music theory, sight-singing, and ear-training fundamentals. Mr. Klocke lives in Beloit with his ever-supportive wife, Catie, and their 4 year-old son Connor. He is a member of MENC (National Association for Music Education), ACDA (American Choral Director's Association), WCDA (Wisconsin Choral Director's Association), and belongs to the VoiceCare Network. He can be contacted via e-mail at dklocke@sdb.k12.wi.us, or by phone during school hours at 361-3036.
