Improving Student Achievement through Technology: An Administrator's Guide

Course Description: This course is specifically for administrators wishing to learn how to recognize, evaluate, and promote excellence in the effective use of technology to improve student learning.

Participants will:

  • Become aware of current issues related to technology integration and student learning
  • Become familiar with the curriculum and information literacy and technology standards
  • Identify specific Administrator Technology Standards and use them to guide the development of a school or systems technology plan
  • Recognize, evaluate and support engaged learning through the use of technology
  • Use a performance based teacher evaluation model that includes effective technology insturctional strategies
  • Use technology skills to record and interpret student data and use it as the basis of school improvement planning
  • Use technology tools more efficiently to perform management tasks
