Once a lesson has been recorded the video must be edited. The editing is done on a Macintosh G4 with 384MB of SDRAM and a 20GB hard drive. The video is captured and stored onto an internal 74GB hard drive. The video is edited using iMovie 2 and Final Cut Pro. The video is then prepared for internet streaming through the use of the software Media Cleaner Pro and Sorenson Video. An Ultra BlueICE accelerator board speeds up the process of compressing the video.
These tools produce high-quality quicktime files that are stored on a server. |

| Each middle school involved in the project has a Macintosh OS X Streaming Server for storing the compressed QuickTime video files. These servers allow for high quality video streaming (IP video) over each district's network. Video files can be accessed from any computer, within each district, that has an Internet connection, a web browser and QuickTime 4 installed. | ![]() Macintosh OS X Streaming Server & Apple Studio Display |
