that math was something for only people who were going to become engineers, doctors, physics instructors, and geologists.  I wanted to be a geologist because I love geography, but I feared cartography due to my limited math knowledge.
Now I believe,
that math is not something to fear but rather something to embrace. If I had had more fun with math at an earlier age and had not felt inadequate, I wonder where I’d be now studying the physical earth.

WELCOME TEACHERS!

The School District of Beloit is using Investigations in Number, Data and Space® to advance the teaching and learning of mathematics for all elementary school students

Our Goal: To help all students K-5 acquire mathematical knowledge, skill, and confidence.

Teachers across the grade levels can use this site to work in-sync with other teachers at the elementary schools and support other educators as they implement Investigations to engage students with mathematics.

This site provides professional development and resources that support the teaching and learning of mathematics.

"I used to think that basic facts required memorization.  Now I believe, that mathematical knowledge is constructed through application of meaningful challenges."

C. LaMaster, Grade 4 Math Teacher
