Wisconsin's Model Academic Standards

This page contains links to the WI DPI Guides for the four core areas; Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.

What are the WI DPI Guides?

    - The WI DPI Guides are frameworks for planning curriculum in the 4 core areas.  They include the academic standards which "specify what students should know and be able to do, and what they might be asked to do to give evidence of standards."

The standards include:

    1.  Content standards which contain the concepts that will lead students to a deeper understanding in an area of study. (what students should know and be able to do.)

    2.  Performance standards which are guidelines, not checklists, to tell how students will show that they are meeting a standard.

The standards are in Acrobat Reader (pdf) format.  You will need to have the Acrobat Reader program installed on your computer to view pdf files.

This page also contains an installer for Acrobat Reader. Only download and install this file if you do not already have Acrobat Reader installed. You can test this by trying to open a pdf file and seeing if it works. If not, download the appropriate file for your computer:
