	Welcome to Converse!
	Dear Parents/Guardians, Welcome to our Converse web site! I would like to take a moment to give you a brief written tour of our wonderful school.As soon as you enter Converse, you can feel the warmth and vitality of our school.I am very excited to share that we have been selected as a "Wisconsin School of Recognition." In October, myself, staff members and our superintendant, Mr. McNeal, traveled to Madison to receive this prestigious award.This is a great honor and staff, students, families and community partners are to be congratulated!Converse is a SAGE funded school.At Converse we believe in educating the whole child; socially, emotionally, and academically.We believe that partnering with our parents is crucial in order for each one of our students to reach their full potential. We have an open door policy,and we always welcome our Converse family!Please feel free to stop in and visit or call at any time.I look forward to continuing our partnership with you! Canadian Wildlife Federation	This site encourages young naturalists to actively participate in wildlife conservation, including building a backyard habitat for birds and butterflies.
CBC Kids	This terrific extension of CBC's educational and entertaining programming for kids targets specific ages like preschool, afterschool and teens. Activities include non-violent games like Canuck Rally and interactive horoscopes.

GirlSite! Network	This site was created by a not-for-profit organization so girls and young women would have place to speak their minds and share their ideas. Topics cover everything from cool careers and volunteering to creative writing diaries.
How Stuff Works	This award-winning site clearly and concisely tells kids (and adults!) how different things work - from the everyday (how automobile engines run) to the unusual (how Jell-O sets).

Kids Click!	This site was created by a group of US librarians so kids could find age-appropriate Web content on everything from science to health to popular entertainment. All links are non-commercial and non-violent.

Kids Reads	The best place on the Web for kids to find information about their favourite books and authors, including excerpts from the hottest new releases.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration	A perfect place for budding astronomers to learn about the galaxy. Kids can receive up-to-the-minute bulletins about space programs or use the multimedia section to view current images in space.
National Geographic Kids!	The best part of this all-round great site is the current affairs section, written in easy-to-understand language, so kids can keep on top of new archaeological digs and historical discoveries.
PBS Kids	The activities and games on this award-winning site feature many of the characters from kids' favorite TV shows, including Caillou, Clifford, Barney and Oscar the Grouch. Easy navigation makes it friendly for young and first-time Internet users. There's also an extensive resource section for parents and teachers.
Science Made Simple	This no-frills site helps kids learn science the easy, hands-on way with clear, detailed answers to their questions and lots of fun projects and experiments.

United Nations Cyber School Bus	Translated into six languages, the rich content and resources on this United Nations-sponsored site let children participate in a global community over the Web.
Virtual Museum of Canada	Multimedia presentations, image galleries and interactive games make learning Canadian history and geography a lot more fun.
Yahooligans!	The ultimate kid-friendly search engine. Based on the popular adult Yahoo! site, it's a safe place for children to look for information and has a great list of age-appropriate reference links.

First in Math	Website for student access to First in Math. This is a site that allows students to practice their math skills and also students are able to compete with other students at their level.
Fun Brain for Parents	Educational games are the highlight of this site. The games cover all interest areas and target specific age levels. There are "parent-kid challenges," "homework relief," and "books on the run" links. Also linked to this site, there is a family education newsletter that helps with school, life, entertainment, and special needs issues.

Mark Schildt would like to get the word out on a 2011 BELOIT MEMORIAL LADY KNIGHT BASKETBALL CAMP for girls this summer.	The camp is for girls going into 4th-8th are 10:00-12:00 and going into 9th-12th are 1:00-3:00 from June 13th-15th at our field house.
PBS For Parents	This site contains guides on a variety of topics such as child development, curriculum connections, and technology for kids. It also shares information on hot issues in education. On the lighter side, there are games, stories, and guides to the TV programs offered by PBS.
Scholastic for Parents	This site contains age appropriate guides for helping your child learn to love reading. Divided into early childhood and school age children, the site also contains resources for helping your child with math, technology and other subjects. Additionally, there is an array of information about family matters.
Time for Kids Teacher's Homepage	This site shares diverse resources for parents including virtual tours around the world, kid-appropriate current events stories, homework help, and games.
